The death of a former Warsaw resident is being investigated in Fort Wayne as a homicide.

Kirk Lecount, 42, was found dead at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the backyard of his home at 1707 High St., Fort Wayne. The Allen County coroner ruled the cause of a death blunt force head trauma.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, through an initial investigation detectives learned Lecount may have been involved in a physical altercation Wednesday night outside of his home. That incident, however, was not previously reported police. Police have not made any arrests in Lecount’s death.

Lecount was a former Warsaw resident and, according to court records, had a history of alcohol related convictions.
