UPDATE: Missing Woman Found In Field

Following an extensive search effort for Delores C. Corbett, 78, Elwood, KCSD located the missing woman in a nearby bean field. Corbett was transported by ATV out of the field and was treated for dehydration upon discovery.

Members of the Kosciusko County Sheriffs Department, Multi-Township EMS, Silver Lake Fire Department, Burket Fire Department and Claypool FIre Department have located a woman who went missing this morning in Silver Lake.

According to Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriffs Department, Delores C. Corbett, 78, of Elwood, went missing from Hill Lake Campground in Silver Lake early this morning. Police were notified of her disappearance at 8:46 a.m. According to Hill, it is possible that Corbett suffers from dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Police located Corbett just north of the campground approximately 1 mile into a nearby bean field. Corbett, who had wandered out of sight over a hill in the field, was located by the Kosciusko County Sheriffs Department K9 unit. Hill stated that officials were in the process of implementing dive and aerial search efforts just before Corbett was located.

Hill stated that Corbett was treated for dehydration upon discovery. Corbett was escorted out of the field by an ATV supplied by Multi-Township EMS.
