Sisk, JamesJames F. Sisk, 67, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, in Roudebush Veteran’s Administration Center, Indianapolis, Ind.

He was born May 31, 1946, in Warsaw, to Donald Sisk, Jr. and Marcele (Duer) Sisk. He graduated in 1964 from Warsaw High School where he played football and was an all conference player and the team’s captain in his senior year. He was certified by The Carpet and Rug Institute, Louisville, Ky.

James enlisted into the United States Army Jan. 17, 1966, in Warsaw. SP5 James Fredrick Sisk was honorably discharged at Fort Hood, Texas, Jan. 16, 1968, and was a reservist until Jan. 16, 1972.

He worked as an independent carpet layer for 40 years retiring in 2010. James was a member of the American Legion Post #49 and Indiana Sheriff’s Association. He was an avid golfer, is named on the National Hole-in-One Registry multiple times, and he loved Notre Dame Football. He enjoyed reading, he liked and in earlier years was a proud owner of Corvettes; was a very loving and protective father and grandfather.

James is survived by a son: Nathan (Kathleen) Sisk, Avon, Ind.; a daughter: Malenda (Derek) Matts, Zephyrhills, Fla.; three grandchildren: Owen, Tyler and Myles; and a brother: David Sisk, Leesburg, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Marcele Sisk; his father: Donald Sisk Jr.; and a sister: Sue Sisk.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Pastor Dave Hummel, Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
