CULVER – The Triton baseball team got past the weather and Westville in sectional semifinal action Monday.
The Trojans edged Westville 3-2 in a semifinal contest of the Class 1-A Culver Sectional.
Triton scored a run in the top of the first inning and added two more in the top of the third to take a 3-0 lead. Westville scored both of its runs in the home half of the third frame.
The Trojans advance to play host Culver today in the championship game at 5 p.m.
Culver blanked South Central 1-0 in the other semifinal game on Monday.
Cole Creighbaum had two hits and Pete Kauffman a double to lead Triton.
Starting pitcher Bryson Mosier collected the win for the Trojans with relief help from Ben Perkins, who came on in the sixth inning.
