Arby'sArby’s on North Detroit Street in Warsaw will remain closed for what could be up to three weeks while repairs from a weekend break-in are made.

Katie Aguilar-Polk tells StaceyPageOnline.com that her family’s restaurant was broken into over the weekend and the culprits caused a lot of interior damage.

Warsaw Police have now filed a report indicating the break-in was discovered at 4 a.m. Sunday.

A Warsaw Parks Department employee reported a suspicious vehicle in the area of the new Mobile One gas station on North Detroit Street early in the morning. A traffic stop was initiated and officers located stolen goods and marijuana inside the vehicle. The items located in the car are believed to have led the officers to Arby’s.

Two occupants of the vehicle, Jason A. Whetstone, 29, of 168 Weber St., South Bend, and Nicholas Lee Cline, 24, 3113 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, were both arrested for felony burglary/breaking and entering. Whetstone was initially charged with two additional misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief.

The vehicle the men were in, a tan Chevrolet passenger car, was impounded and held for processing and further investigation.

Both Cline and Whetstone are being held on $10,000 bonds.

Aguilar-Polk said the restaurant on North Detroit Street (SR 15) will be closed for 1 to 3 weeks while repairs are made. The location on U.S. 30 remains open.

Although there are unconfirmed accounts of other businesses being broken into or vandalized, Warsaw Police have not released any additional information, and no other police reports indicating any other victims were located.
