Nellie Ann Spurling, 79, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on May 20, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on May 7, 1934, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Harold and Marie (Morthorse) Hollis. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne. In 1953 in Fort Wayne, she married Robert Spurling, who survives.

She was a longtime Syracuse area resident. She retired from Liberty Homes as a payroll supervisor after 43 years of service. She was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Syracuse.

Nellie is survived by her husband; one daughter: Yvonne (Eric) Coburn, Leesburg, Ind.; one son: Daniel (Luanne) Spurling, Syracuse; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister: Joyce Till, Brandon, Fla.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at a later date.
