HeadshotMaxine Lucille Mick, 92, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse.

She was born March 4, 1922, in Syracuse to Clarence and Eva (Eppert) McKibben.

She was a lifetime area resident and attended Syracuse public schools. On Dec. 17, 1976, in New Paris, Ind., she married Frederick Mick who preceded her on March 24, 1987. She retired in 1993 from Syracuse Rubber Company at the age of 71 after 32 years of service.

She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary in Syracuse.

She is survived by a daughter: Sandy (Edward) Grise, Goshen, Ind.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother: Charles McKibben, Syracuse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother: Morris McKibben; a sister: Wanita Schrock; and a stepbrother: Robert (Bob) Wiles

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, at the Syracuse Cemetery, Mill St., Syracuse, with Pastor John Rauch of the Grace Community Church officiating.

Memorial bequest may be given to the Millers Merry Manor Activities Fund, 500, E. Pickwick Dr., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
