A Republican caucus held in Milford tonight named Rebecca L. Alles the new Van Buren Township Trustee.

A total of six Milford residents filed their candidacy for the position. Kosciusko County Republican Chairman Randall Girod said Alles was elected on the third ballot. She will fill the remainder of the unexpired term of Elizabeth “Libby” Winchester who announced her resignation effective June 1.

Other candidates who sought the position were Debra M. Mast, Linda Musselman, Kathy Kreider, Valerie Tucker and Barbara Wuthrich.
