David R. Thomas, 53, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:49 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

On March 28, 1960, he was born in Welch, W.V., to Billy E. and Minnie (Lester) Thomas. He married Brenda Mock on May 3, 1985 in Warsaw.

David lived most of his life in Warsaw. He worked in maintenance for Serenade Foods, Milford, Ind., for 34 years. He was a graduate of Warsaw High School, class of 1979. He enjoyed fishing, dirt bikes, camping and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds.

He is survived by his wife; three sons: Bryan (Shanna) Thomas, Warsaw; Eric Thomas, Warsaw; and Dillon Thomas, Warsaw; three brothers: Bill (Jenni) Thomas, Warsaw; Johnny Thomas, Akron, Ind.; and Calvin Thomas, Warsaw; four sisters: Deb (Mitch) Hunsberger, Warsaw; Donna (Mitch) Glant, Warsaw; Deanna Thomas, North Webster, Ind.; and Kathy Garris, Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the funeral chapel with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, Ind.
