Champs Nieveen, Catron Lead LCA

lca smallGOSHEN – Hailey Nieveen and Emilee Catron turned in championships performances Monday night to lead the Lakeland Christian Academy track team.

Nieveen won both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles races in the Elkhart Christian Academy Invitational held at Goshen College. She won the events in times of 17.0 and 51.8 respectively.

Catron placed first in the 400 in a time of 1:07.3.

Host Elkhart Christian won the girls team title with 97 points. LCA was second with 37.

Gabby Catron placed second in the discus for LCA. Hannah Remington was second in the 1,600, while the 1,600 relay team of Nieveen, Remington, Emilee Catron and Carissa Urschalitz also finished second.

Megan Lang was third in the discus for LCA. Also placing third were Gabby Catron in the shot put, Emilee Catron in the 3,200 and Urschalitz in the 400. Lang was fourth in the shot put.

Tony Shen was third in the 200 and Alex Plastow fourth in the 1,600 for LCA in boys competition in the invite.
