WARSAW – The Warsaw girls tennis team dropped a 4-1 final Monday to visiting Homestead.

Junior Sarah Boyle notched the lone win for the host Tigers in the non-conference match. Boyle defeated Kelsey Vessels 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles.

Homestead won both of the other singles matches in straight sets.

Hanita Epstein topped Jacqueline Sasso 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Mary Rachel defeated Rachel Alexander 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3.

The Homestead No. 1 doubles team of Allison Overlander Janay Andrews rallied for a 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-2 win over Marley Smith and Olivia Wallin.

Homestead completed the 4-1 win as its No. 2 doubles duo of Andrea Stephens and Morgan Caudill topped Lindsay Sciarra and Mallory Bartel 6-3, 7-5.

Warsaw drops to 1-6 overall on the season.

Homestead won the JV match by a 3-2 final.  Winning in singles play for Warsaw were Blair Findlay at No. 1 and Shelby Roberts at No. 3.

Warsaw plays at conference foe NorthWood Tuesday night and then hosts league opponent Concord on Wednesday.
