James ParkerJames S. Parker, 66, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital after fighting a battle with cancer for 7 years.

He was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Kenton, Ga., to James A. Parker and Iona (Whaley) Moore. He married Jeannie Shields on Aug. 3, 1974, in Bremen, Ind. She survives.

He was a lifetime area resident and worked at Holiday Rambler for 40 years. Jim loved to fish walleye and he enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife; daughters: Margie (Scott) Slusser, Syracuse, Ind.; and Carissa (Bruce) Bordner, Nappanee; grandchildren: Cassidy Parker, Kai Slusser, Destiny Hossler and Kendra Bordner; and three sisters and a brother.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, Ind. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Father Bob Lengerich will officiate. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery.
