Jimmy D. Purvis, 57, of North Manchester, Ind., died at 8:17 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born April 27, 1955, at Owingsville, Ky., to Ewell and Mary Alice (Withrow) Purvis. Before its closing, he had worked at Warner Corp., North Manchester.

Surviving are two sons: Jimmy L. Purvis, Marion, Ind.; and Michael D. (Amanda) Purvis, Plymouth, Ind.; a daughter: Michaela Gordon, Wabash, Ind.; and seven grandchildren; four brothers: William Staton and Herman Staton, both of North Manchester; David Purvis, Owingsville, Ky.; and Kenny Purvis, Servia, Ind.; and a sister: Ann Francis Staton, Ky.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Ewell Jean Purvis; and a sister: Jeanie Sue Shepherd.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
