Valpo Sweeps Pair From Tigers

images-7WARSAW – The Warsaw softball team dropped a pair to visiting Valparaiso Saturday.

The Vikings took game one 15-3 in six innings and then won the nightcap 4-2 of the non-conference twin bill at WCHS.

Valparaiso piled up 18 hits in the opener, while Warsaw had just three.

Junior Ashley Ousley had a double and an RBI in game one to lead the Tigers. Sophomores Karly Jones and Taylor Stiver each had a hit for Warsaw.

Valparaiso outhit the Tigers 9-6 in the win in game two.

Junior Kaleigh Speicher had a pair of hits, including a home run, to lead Warsaw. Senior Kayla Snider had two hits and Ousley and senior Ashton Warren each had one for the Tigers.

Warsaw, which saw its two-game winning streak snapped, had a total of seven errors in the two losses.

Warsaw, now 2-6 overall, will host conference foe NorthWood Monday at 5 p.m.
