Tobacco Store Fire Still Under Investigation

Members of the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Warsaw Police Department are still investigating the cause of a weekend fire that destroyed one local business and damaged two others.

The fire began with reports of smoke coming from Cigarettes Plus, a business located in a small strip mall at 853 N. Lake St., Warsaw, at 3:38 a.m. Sunday, April 14 (See full story and photos). Minutes after firefighters arrived, the building became engulfed in flames.

The fire destroyed the cigarette business and also affected the other businesses in the building including Avilas, which is a specialty grocery store, and Hayden’s laundromat. The building is owned by Wade Frauhiger.
