For the second time this week, Pierceton Fire Department was called to 3773 E. 500 S. for a field fire. Today, officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were also called to the scene.

The fire was reported just before 3:30 p.m. and resulted in Pierceton calling for a full assist from Sidney Fire Department because the fire was quickly moving toward a propane tank. The first time crews were called there Monday, several area fire departments were also called to help.

DSC_1357According to PFD Captain Nathan Rhoades, the cause of today’s fire is undetermined, but a report was filed with the KCSD due to the nature of the blaze.

Officials on scene were inspecting a burned pile of debris while other fire fighters doused the surrounding grassy area.
