A North Webster business sustained exterior damage this morning when a car parked outside caught fire.

North Webster Fire Department was called to the Sunrise Deli, located at 225 N. Main St., at about 5:30 a.m. The owner of the business called 911 to report a vehicle was fully engulfed in the parking lot.

NWFD Chief Jeremy Likens said the exterior siding of the business melted,  windows were blown out due to the heat and a small portion of the roof was damaged by the fire. The vehicle, which belonged to the deli’s owner, was a total loss, the Likens said damages to the building are estimated at about $10,000.

County records show that the property is owned by Alan and Judy Williams of Pierceton. A call to Sunrise Deli was answered by the woman said she was too busy to provide information.
