Two candidates have filed for the position of Van Buren Township Trustee in the wake of Elizabeth Winchester’s resignation.

Debra M. Mast, 11116 N. Orn Rd., Milford; and Rebecca L. Alles, 815 E. Main St., Milford, have filed their Declaration of Candidacy forms with Kosciusko County Republican Party Chairman Randall Girod.

A caucus will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, to appointed a new Van Buren Township Trustee to fill the vacancy being left by Winchester. She announced her resignation will be effective June 1. (See related story)

The deadline for filing a Declaration of Candidacy with Girod is 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11.
