The Baker Youth Club raised a record $45,000 at its annual event Friday evening at the Wagon Wheel Theater in Warsaw.

The BYC has been serving the youth of Kosciusko County for 87 years. It is the mission of the BYC to shape and educate physical and social identities based on Christian values. “We work to achieve this mission by providing quality supervision, educational support by certified teachers and structured daily activities,” said Julie Harvey.

BYC is currently providing services to over 300 youth each night in Warsaw, Syracuse, North Webster, Milford, Claypool and Leesburg, and has nearly 700 members. The monies raised Friday night are used to maintain the programs.

During last night’s fundraiser, the BYC played off of the March Madness theme hooping it up with varsity shooters from Wawasee and Warsaw. “The Wagon Wheel is a fantastic venue for any event,” said Tracy Furnivall, director of Baker Youth Club.  “We were able to transform a classic theater into a college basketball arena.”
