A memorial was held in the community of Palatine, Ill., Saturday to remember three firefighters killed in the line of duty 40 years ago. (See related story)
One of the staples of the celebration was Pierceton Fire Department’s 1969 Snorkel truck. The fire truck belonged to the Palatine Fire Department in 1973 and, according to Palatine deputy fire chief Pat Gratzianna, it was key in fighting the fire.
The photos were provided by John Tobin who helped organize Saturday’s ceremony.
