Ethan Hibbs a Kosciusko County 4-H Shooting Sports Member received a monetary award from community supporter Dr. Mary Baker, DDS, which was donated to the Shooting Sports Program. 

The Shooting Sports program is a hands-on educational program that teaches young people the safe, responsible use of firearms and the fundamentals of firing pistols, rifles, black powder rifles, shotguns and archery. The program uses the skills and disciplines of shooting to assist young people and their leaders to attain knowledge and develop essential life skills.

The 4-H Shooting Sports program promises to teach safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment, promote high standards of safety sportsmanship and ethical  behavior, strengthens family participation, increases respect and knowledge of wildlife and reinforces hunter education programs.

The Indiana 4-H Shooting Sports program is based upon the National 4-H Shooting Sports guidelines, which is recognized as a leader in firearm training. It has a well-demonstrated National impact on approximately 100,000 young people and more than 10,000 certified volunteer leaders. With approximately 200 million guns in the United States today, the 4-H Shooting Sports program provides the opportunity to develop firearm safety for our youth.
