Child molesting charges have been filed against a Columbia City man who allegedly admitted to his crime.

Zachery Walsh, 20, of Columbia City, was interviewed by an officer of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and subsequently arrested on charges that he molested or fondled a 3-year-old girl.

According to a probable cause affidavit provided by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Welsh went to a Claypool home Monday where he was left alone with the 3-year-old girl and her sister, a 4-year-old.

 The victim told her mother that Walsh had a “tickle fight” with her and described a sexual encounter that occurred while the mother was away from home.

Walsh was questioned by the officer and admitted that he did touch the girl inappropriately.

His bond was set at $5,000.
