North Webster Public Library News

If you would like to get involved in a book club, but don’t want to be stuck reading a book you don’t like, then Voyager Book Club at the North Webster Public Library is for you.
In Voyager, you select the books you want to read. Each month focuses on a certain type of book and you can choose to read any book that falls within that genre. The fun part is meeting together and sharing what everyone has read.
Voyager Book Club meets the fourth Monday of each month at 10 a.m. On Feb. 25, the group will be sharing a romance book while next month it will be any book from the NWPL’s Local History and Genealogy Center. New members are always welcome.
If you really want to sink your teeth into something fun, join the NWPL for Revolving Recipe Round-Up at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26. Bring an Italian dish you’ve prepared along with its recipe.
This group gets together the fourth Tuesday each month to swap recipes and sample new dishes. Each month highlights a different type of food with next month’s focus being anything green. The NWPL provides the table service and free coffee or water, so join us for a deliciously good time.
The cost of going to a movie theater can strain the family budget, but you don’t have to give up taking your family out to the movies. Bring them to NWPL’s Family Movie Time. It’s absolutely free – even the popcorn.
At 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, NWPL will be showing a recently released PG rated movie about an orphaned youth as he struggles to support his young twin sisters and finish high school while enduring daily bullying from the football team. His friendship with the football field’s groundskeeper may be the only thing that can help him as he faces a desperate decision.
Seating is limited, so arrive early to get your free tickets. They will be available one hour prior to show time until gone.
The opportunity to enter the Nature Photo Contest will be gone soon too, so be sure to submit your entries by Feb. 28. Entries must be a 3×5 or 4×6 print of a nature photograph you have taken with your name and phone number attached. The photos will be judged on content, composition and clarity with the winner receiving an electronic photo frame as the prize.
Keep reading those romance novels. The Romance Reader Contest also ends Feb. 28. Every time you check out five romance books during February, you can enter the drawing to win a basket of romance.
And ladies, tell us how we’re doing by participating in the Ladies Shout-Out for the Library. Check out any item, tell us what you like about the NWPL, let us take your picture, and enter your name in the drawing to win a red purse. You have until Feb. 28 to be heard.
All contest and drawing winners will be announced at the National Library Week Celebration on April 18 and must be present to claim their prize.
