Doreen Kay NicholsDoreen Kay Nichols, 49, of Ligonier, Ind., passed away at her home Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2013, after battling cancer.

She was born Oct. 9, 1963, in Goshen, Ind., to James Wendell and Juva (Gall) Snavely. She married Jeremy Nichols Dec. 31, 1987, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

A homemaker, Doreen attended and was very involved in both Voice Ministries, Elkhart, Ind., and Faith Fellowship, Syracuse, Ind. She loved to worship, garden and attend her children’s activities.

She is survived by her husband; six children: Chad Nichols, Kansas City, Mo.; Tosha (Manny) Rodriguez, Goshen; and Trent, Brittany, Zachary and Cassie Nichols, all of Ligonier; a grandson: Ezekiah Rodriguez; her mother: Juva Snavely, Ligonier; a sister: Carma L. (Gaylord) Diaz, Ligonier; and two brothers: Michael (Charlene) Snavely, Ligonier; Gregory A. (Nanci) Snavely, North Webster, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her father: James ‘Wendell’ Snavely, Sept. 2, 2009.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Voice Ministries, Elkhart, Ind. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb.10, at Voice Ministries, 1610 S. Nappanee St., Elkhart.

A private family graveside service and burial were conducted at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris, Ind.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to International House of Prayer Michiana or World Missionary Press.
