AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team closed out its home season in style Monday night with a 54-46 win over Peru.
The Vikings took a 19-14 lead after the first quarter en route to the win in its final home game of the 2012-13 season and Senior Night.
Caylie Teel scored 16 points to lead the way for the winners, who hit 18-of-21 free throws in the victory.
The quartet of Cara Hoffman, Kelsey Ball, Courtney Newsome and Connor Fraser each scored seven points for the Vikings, who improve to 7-12.
Makinsey Honn had 18 points and Shalyn Renfrow 17 for Peru, which drops to 9-10.
Valley closes out the regular season with a game at South Bend Clay Thursday night.
