A Flood Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service office in Syracuse for areas including Kosciusko, Elkhart, Fulton, Huntington, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Wabash and Whitley counties.

The watch is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday and means that, which overnight rains, the potential for significant flooding is possible tonight and Wednesday morning.

Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected overnight. Total rainfall amounts across the area by Wednesday morning are expected to range between 1 inch and 3 inches. The combination of heavy rain and snow melt, coupled with frozen soil conditions may lead to flooding of many rivers and streams and ponding of water on low lying areas.

Authorities urge motorists to NOT drive through high water as roads could be washed out.
