Sixth graders at Warsaw Christian are pictured with guitars that they use in music class with teacher Marlise Shaffer.

The use of guitars in the class has helped the students put into practice what they have learned in music theory. Playing the guitar teaches the students intervals and how notes work together. It can also be applied to playing other musical instruments as well. The students have enjoyed the guitar unit, which helps to prepare them for success in future music opportunities such as band, choir and instrumental ensembles.
