CASTON – The host Comets started strong en route to defeating Lakeland Christian Academy 55-27 in girls basketball action Thursday night.

Caston led 14-7 after the opening quarter and built the lead to 32-14 at halftime.

Jess Goss and Emilee Catron each scored seven points to lead LCA, which drops to 4-13 with the loss.

Hannah Remington netted five points and Megan Lang and Ashley Ormsby each had three for the Cougars. Alisa Gross had two points for coach Ty Propp’s team.

Anna Brown totaled 18 points and Ingrid Martinez scored 12 to lead Caston, which events its record at 8-8.

LCA hosts Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian next Thursday. Caston hosts Clinton Christian Saturday afternoon.
