The 2013 Miss Kosciusko County Scholarship Program was held Saturday night in Syracuse and Shana Patel was crowned victorious.

Four young women competed in five categories including interview, talent, lifestyle and fitness, evening gown and on-stage question.

Patel not only received the Miss Kosciusko crown and title, she also received a $1,000 scholarship.

There were also four young ladies competing in the Miss Kosciusko County Outstanding Teen competition. Madeline Batista won that honor, along with a $100 scholarship.

Both Patel and Batista will now compete in the state competitions in June.
