Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 25, 3:51 p.m. South 400 West, Warsaw. Drivers: Diana K. Hughes, 61, South 450 West, Claypoool; and Angel D. Ensign, 26, East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Hughes was northbound on CR 450 West and made a complete stop at SR 25, but failed to see a westbound vehicle driven by Ensign and pulled into its path. Hughes was uninjured. Ensign complained of back pain. Damages: up to $50,000
  • Monday, Dec. 24, 9:48 a.m. South SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Crystal L. Ellingwood, 26, Zollinger Road, Goshen. Driver drifted off the side of the road, overcorrected and lost control. The vehicle overturned in a ditch. Ellingwood complained of back and leg pain and was taken by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damages: up to $5,000
  • Sunday, Dec. 23, 10:30 p.m. South SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Loren D. Dalrymple, 39, South Wausau Street, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
  • Friday, Dec. 21, 7:55 p.m. West 900 South, Claypool. Driver: Derek J. High, 18, West Yant Street, Silver Lake. Driver lost control on the icy road and struck a utility pole. Damages: up to $5,000
  • Friday, Dec. 12, 5:37 a.m. U.S. 30 and West 300 North, Warsaw. Driver: Patricia I. Redman, 59, Lincoln Highway, Bourbon. Driver lost control on icy road and struck a bridge rail. Damages: up to $5,000

Incidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following incidents:

  • Dec. 24, 10:20 a.m. Freedom Oil Express of Leesburg reported a drive off.
  • Dec. 24, 7:35 p.m. Charles Brower reported an overturned vehicle along East 600 North. The vehicle was unattended.
  • Dec. 23, 3:05 a.m. Aaron Troyer reported two horses were struck in a hit and run accident at 11691 N. 1000 W., Nappanee. The driver of the vehicle left the scene.
  • Dec. 23, 2:45 p.m. Martha Kendrick reported an attempted burglary in Silver Lake.
  • Dec. 22, 7:11 p.m. James Harvey of Pickwick Road, Syracuse, reported damages to his neighbor’s mailbox.
  • Dec. 19, 2:15 a.m. A report of someone looking in windows was reported in Claypool.
