A 48-year-old Warsaw man was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne in serious condition early this morning after his motorcycle collided with a deer.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the crash that happened at about 7:32 a.m. on Country Club Road just north of CR 500 South, south of Warsaw.

The initial investigation finds that Todd E. Engle, 48, was northbound on Country Club Road when a deer ran into his path and collided with the 2005 Yamaha V. Star motorcycle. The impact caused the bike to skid off the west side of the road and into a ditch. Engle was entangled in the wreckage and with the deer.
