Warsaw Common Council unanimously voted on new districting boundaries Monday night.

Acting on Indiana law that required the city of Warsaw to establish new districting, the Warsaw Common Council voted Monday night to adopt new council districts.

As required, the five districts are composed of contiguous territory, are reasonably compact and contain nearly equal populations. City planner Jeremy Skinner said the districts are equally populated to within about 100 residents and councilman Jeff Grose noted there has been “a good faith effort” to make all districts equal.

Districts 1 and 4 (see map) will not provide for much growth without the city annexing areas, but District 5 will see ample growth in the next five years, said Skinner.

Council members and the districts they serve are Jeff Grose, District 1; Charlie Smith, District 2; Michael Klondaris, District 3; Jerry Frush, District 4; and Diane Quance, District 5.

The council unanimous passed the new council districts.
