GOSHEN – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team dropped a pair of contests Saturday in the Bethany Christian Holiday Tournament.
The Cougars lost 66-59 to South Bend Trinity in the consolation game after a 67-31 loss to Elkhart Christian in a first-round contest.
South Bend Trinity outscored LCA 36-25 in the middle two quarters in the consolation game. Trinity, which improved to 3-2, won a 42-39 final at LCA on Dec. 8.
Zarek Finley led the way for LCA with 17 points and nine rebounds. Chris Maron netted 13 points, Calvin Prinsen 12 and Collin Price eight for the Cougars. LCA was 11-of-20 from the free throw line in the loss.
Emanuel Black scored a game-high 20 points for Trinity.
Elkhart Christian outscored LCA 39-16 in the middle two periods to take control in the opener.
Price led the Cougars, who were 0-of-7 from the line, with 15 points.
Jack Walters led Elkhart Christian with 15 points.
LCA (2-6) returns to action by hosting its own tournament Dec. 28-29.
