Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

  • Thursday, Dec. 13, 7:21 p.m. North 700 West, Warsaw. Driver: Ashel L. Ruiz, 34, West 200 North, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $10,000
  • Thursday, Dec. 13, 6:52 p.m. West Old Road 30, Atwood. Driver: Michael D. Blair, 65, North Grandview Drive, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
  • Wednesday, Dec. 12, 7:30 p.m. East 1000 North, Syracuse. Drivers: Denise K. Yoder, 55, North Koher Road East, Syracuse; and Kelly A. Meeks, 43, West Cromwell Road, Ligonier. Meeks rear-ended Yoder’s vehicle at a stop sign. Damages: up to $2,500
  • Wednesday, Dec. 12, 8:51 a.m. North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. Driver: Joseph M. Callaghan, 71, Cardinal Drive, Warsaw. Callahan was transporting a manufactured home when it struck a low hanging power line causing the pole to collapse. Damages: up to $10,000
  • Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2:15 p.m. Drivers: Trista A. Rose, 19, South 50 West, Claypool; and Clarence E. Cook, 68, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Rose was reportedly adjusting her glasses and when she looked up she was too close to avoid rear-ending Cook’s vehicle, which was waiting to turn onto Pound Drive. Damages: up to $10,000
