Warsaw Boys Cruise To NLC Swim Win

WARSAW – The Warsaw boys swim team opened conference action with a dominating win over NorthWood Thursday night.

The host Tigers won all 12 events to post a 145-41 Northern Lakes Conference win over the Panthers.

Andrew Thrasher and Zach Taylor led the way for the unbeaten Tigers. Thrasher won both the 200 and 500 freestyle races, while Taylor took first place in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly events. Jayden Parrett was also a double winner with firsts in both the 50 free style and 100 backstroke races for WCHS.

The Tigers posted a total of 78 season best times in the win.  Coach Nate Long’s squad, now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the NLC, also had 52 career fastest times.

Also notching first-place performances for Warsaw in the victory were the 200 medley relay team of Jayden Parrett, Matt Wildman, Zach Taylor and  Mackenzie Pelo and Dean Katris in diving.

Other winning efforts came from Josh Miller in the 100 Freestyle, the team of Matt Wildman, Mackenzie Pelo, JD French, Ethan Cook in the 200 freestyle relay,  Matt Wildman in the 100  and the 400 Freestyle Relay team of  Ethan Cook, Josh Miller, Andrew Thrasher and Jayden Parrett)

Warsaw hosts its own invitational Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
