It’s WCS Holiday Concert Season

Warsaw Community Schools announce a plethora of upcoming concerts for the holiday season.

The music begins at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, with the Winter Concert presented by the Warsaw Middle School Bands. Featured in the concert will be the Edgewood/Lakeview Combined Beginning Bands and the Edgewood/Lakeview Combined Advanced Bands.

The bands will perform holiday favorites such as Good King Wenceslas, Trepak from Nutcracker, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

The concert will be held at the Lakeview Middle School Auditorium, admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Program is under the direction of Tammy Sprunger and Joseph Peloza.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, the Warsaw Sixth Grade Band and Orchestra, and the Lakeview and Edgewood Middle School Orchestras’ will present their first Winter Concert. The concert will be held at the Lakeview Middle School Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is also free and the public is invited to attend.

The Sixth Grade Band and Orchestra include students from every elementary school in the Warsaw Community School Corporation.

The sixth-grade band will be playing holiday favorites such as Up on the Housetop, Jolly Ol’ Saint Nicholas, and Jingle Bells. The musical selections that the Orchestras are playing are: Silent Night, Pachelbel Canon, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Ode to Joy.

Program is under the direction of Carolyn Stalcup, Tammy Sprunger and Joseph Peloza.

Also on Tuesday, Dec. 4, the Warsaw Community High School Choral Department will present its annual holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. in the WCHS Performing Arts Center. Admission is free of charge but cash donations will be accepted for local charities.

That concert will feature all four high school choirs in a variety of classic seasonal favorites. The concert will appeal to all ages and will also include guest instrumentalists.

Concluding the concert will be the traditional singing of “Silent Night.”

The groups are accompanied by Deb Bishop and are under the direction of Scott Avery. The public is cordially invited to attend.
