A Syracuse man received only minor injuries when he drove under a semi in this morning’s dense fog.

The fog is being blamed for a crash on U.S. 30 that resulted in minor injuries to one person.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., an eastbound car on U.S. 30 failed to see a semi tractor and trailer crossing the highway from 650 West to turn west onto the highway. The driver of the passenger car, Brandon Clement, 18, of Syracuse, drove under the semi, but miraculously sustained only scratches.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.

A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. today. Authorities are reminding motorists to slow down and use their headlights while traveling.
