Approximately 80 NIPSCO workers, including 50 linemen from Warsaw and surrounding areas, traveled to New Jersey to assist in Hurricane Sandy power restoration.

The crews started their journey Nov. 1 in Ohio after all power was restored in their Indiana territories. They are now in Augusta, N.J.

The crews are assisting with efforts to restore power to many who remain in the dark.

“My heartfelt appreciation goes out to them for their hard work, long hours and dedication to help others in major need,” said Angie Arnett who supplied the photos and information from her husband, who is a NIPSCO lineman. “We should be proud of our local utility carrier for their efforts. Thank you NIPSCO linemen and crew!”
