Harry E. Minnick, 87, of Ligonier, Ind., and formerly of North Webster and Syracuse, Ind., passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct 17, 2012, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 13, 1925, in South Bend, Ind., to Harry L. and Clara Etta (Hurley) Minnick.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko and Noble counties, attended York Center and Cromwell public schools and was a World War II United States Navy Veteran. On Nov. 23, 1946, in North Webster he married Betty J. Paulus, who preceded him on Feb. 13, 2012, and he was a self-employed maintenance man.
He was a member of American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, VFW Post 1342 in Syracuse and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Milford & Scottish Rite in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Minnick is survived by a daughter: Suzanne Shock, Ligonier; three sons: Mike (Lori) Minnick, Ligonier; Matt (Kristi) Minnick, Sarasota, Fla; and Marshall (Linda) Minnick, Syracuse; and 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents and three sons: Mark Minnick; and infant twin sons; three brothers: Orville L., Robert M., and Schyler E. Minnick.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with Pastor Steve Linebaugh of the Believers Fellowship Church in Middlebury officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the North Webster American Legion.
