WINONA LAKE – Freshman Mallory Rondeau was honored as the national player of the week from the NAIA and NCCAA after an outstanding performance for the Grace College women’s soccer team.

Rondeau, who also earned the Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week award, had a week to remember with four goals in a pair of 3-2 wins for Grace.

Rondeau’s highlight of the week was the game-winning goal against No. 25 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, which she sliced past the goalkeeper with 5 seconds remaining in regulation.

Rondeau, a Wawasee High School graduate,  scored the Lady Lancers’ first and second goals against Bethel on Wednesday before scoring the game’s first and last goals versus IWU. For the week, Rondeau was on the scoring end of four of Grace’s six goals.

The Lady Lancers have now taken down two ranked teams in the NAIA. Rondeau’s 11 goals lead the team and ranks 30th in the NAIA. She also paces the squad with 57 shots and 36 shots on goal this season.
