Wawasee took West Noble to four games, but the visiting Lady Chargers withstood the Lady Warriors 25-18, 19-25, 25-12, 25-22 Tuesday at Wawasee.
Wawasee had big individual numbers expected in a high-scoring matchup of backyard rivals and potential sectional opponents. Anne Beer had 35 digs and 10 kills while Alli Ousley had 33 assists, 21 digs and two aces.
Hunter Gaerte added 11 kills, Aly Anderson 29 digs and Kaitlin Goines seven kills for the 17-13 Lady Warriors.
The Wawasee JV picked up a win against West Noble 19-25, 25-17, 15-3 in the evening’s first matchup. Olivia Huffman had a huge game for Wawasee (12-8), assisting on 18 points, digging seven attempts and serving a pair of aces. Paige Hlutke led the Lady Warriors with seven kills and Kasey Napier and Tia Long combined for 25 digs.
