Police and medics were called to the 700 block of Smith Street in Warsaw at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday where a vehicle and a moped collided.

According to a Warsaw Police report, Madeline J. Islas, 41, of Warsaw, was westbound on Smith Street and attempting to make a right turn into an alley at her residence. Islas failed to see a moped, driven by Gary Konkle, 38, of Winona Lake, traveling beside her and turned into the vehicle.

Police say both drivers had consumed alcohol and were given chemical tests. Results of those tests are pending.

Konkle sustained a knee injury but was otherwise unhurt.

Damages were reported at up to $5,000.
