Harold “Hal” Asa Ross, 80, of Waldport, Ore., and formerly of Warsaw, Ind., 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, in his home.

He was born March 26, 1932, Fort Wayne, Ind., to Asa Ross or Marie (Blue) Ross. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17; served on a minesweeper and a radar picket ship during the Korean War; honorably discharged Feb. 11, 1955. He was an electrician for GM and retired as a private consultant for the auto industry until his second retirement in 2000. VFW Post 1126; American Legion Post 49; Moose Lodge (Warsaw); The Elks (Warsaw); he enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and helping others.

He was survived by three sons: Keith Ross, Warsaw; Troy Ross, Warsaw; and Jay Ross, Warsaw; two sisters: Betty Jane (Fred) Bolles, Warsaw; Phyllis (William) Koser, Columbia City, Ind.; and a daughter-in-Law: Sharelyn Ross, Hemet, Calif.

He was preceded in death by a son: Mark Ross; a brother: Gerald Ross; and three sisters: Virginia Carr, Geraldine Anderson and Donnabelle Lundhal.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the funeral home with  Pastor Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice chaplain. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
