Although this is actually the second Friday of September, last week’s First Friday event in Warsaw was postponed due to the weather. The event is being held this evening, beginning at 5 p.m.

This month’s theme is Fall Into Fashion and it will feature a fashion show at 7:30 p.m. on the main stage at Center and Buffalo streets. Even pets and their owners have a chance to strut their fashion sense with a pet parade and look-alike contest. Bring your pet, sign up for the contest at the Animal Welfare League’s booth, and get set for the 8:30 p.m. parade.

Kids are encouraged to take part in a Big Wheel race sponsored by Penguin Point, the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, Warsaw Community Development Corp. and the Warsaw-Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the race starts at 6 p.m. on East Center Street.

As always, the First Friday event will also have a car show and plenty of vendors and games for the entire family to enjoy.

Upcoming First Friday events are also slated for Oct. 5 with the theme “Artoberfest,” Nov. 2 which is the chili cook-off, and Dec. 7 with the theme “Holly Days.”
