Rosemary M. O’Malley, 83, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 5:27 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born in Defiance, Ohio, on April 8, 1929, to Cecil and Helen Melton.
Rosemary was in the entertainment field for 30 years as a singer in Fort Wayne and Ft. Lauderdale. She worked as a receptionist and hostess at Kosciusko Community Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 2008. Rosemary was also the property manager for a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale for 12 years. She was a volunteer driver for the Cancer Society.
She is survived by her son: Dennis (Gwen) Hixson, Overland Park, Kan.; two grandsons: Eric Hixson, Overland Park; and Kevin (Melinda) Hixson; and two great-granddaughters: Sadie and Julia, Centennial, Colo.; two sisters-in-law: Marjorie and Charlotte Melton, and their six children.
She was preceded in death by her daughters: Dianne Kennedy and Pam Coppett; brothers: Tom, Tim and John; and sisters Eileen, Ceil and Madeline; as well as her parents.
Calling will be from 9:15 a.m. until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial which will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Warsaw, Ind.; with Father Fernando Jimenez officiating.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
