The family of Aurora Shoemaker is continuing their search for clues in the woman’s disappearance by creating fliers to alert the public that she remains missing.

Shoemaker, 18, was last seen Aug. 16 when she went for a walk from her house in Suburban Acres Mobile Home Park, Warsaw. She left with only the clothes she was wearing and her cell phone which was either turned off or went dead several hours later.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Detective Todd Sautter has said that the last allegedly sighting of Shoemaker was made the week after she disappeared. Since then, sporadic tips have come in and police continue to follow up on all leads, but so far, they have turned up no sign of Shoemaker.

Sautter told StaceyPageOnline.com last week that Shoemaker is not in trouble as she is legally an adult and can leave home as she pleases. However, he added that she does need to contact a family member or the police just to let someone know she is ok and the search should end. “I’ve told everyone who may know where she is the same thing,” he explained. “We just need to talk to her to make sure she’s ok.”

At this point, authorities believe Shoemaker’s disappearance is of her own free will, but they will continue to follow any leads.

Shoemaker is 5 feet 9 inches tall with short strawberry blonde hair. She has blue/green eyes, a thin frame and piercings on her lip.

The Northeast Indiana Search and Rescue Team, meanwhile, said it will remain on standby for air and ground search efforts.

Information on Shoemaker’s whereabouts should be directed to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department at 574-267-5667.
