Douglas W. Shuler, 48, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Sept. 3, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born on May 14, 1964, in Santa Maria, Calif., to Jack and Helen (Jones) Shuler who survive. Doug was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran.

He is survived by his parents: Jack and Helen Jones, Syracuse; a brother: Michael (Julie) Shuler, Kearney, Neb.; two sisters: Cindy (Philip) Miller, Leesburg, Ind.; and Tonya Cretacci, Kearney, Neb.;  four nieces: Holly, Brandi, Sadie and Cassi; two nephews: Tyler and Dayton.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at the Solomon Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Glenda Woodcox officiating.  Burial will be at Solomon Creek cemetery.

Arrangements are by Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse.
