Demolition on the CSX depot began this morning in Syracuse. Contractors hired by CSX for the work were on scene and starting the demolition by separating the aluminum roof and other recyclable material. No official from CSX or the
construction company was available for more information.

The depot was built in 1916 and remodeled in 1960. The brick structure measures 576 square feet and had been the target of preservation attempts by The Save
The Depot Committee, which gave up its efforts in August 2011. The facility
has not been used except for storage.
