The Tippecanoe Dance Hall on Lake Tippecanoe is hosting a reunion tonight for those who remember the popular venue, and for those who want to share the experience with their families.
The Tippy Dance Hall Reunion and Family Night will begin at 8 p.m. at 293 EMS T25 Lane, Leesburg.
Admission is $15 for adults and those 12 and younger are free.
The Tippy Dance Hall, as it is commonly known, has been a popular teen dance hall for more than 50 years. Tonight, Sixth Generation, a Niles, Michigan, based band, will also reunite to provide the entertainment. Sixth Generation was a popular band at the dance hall in the 1960s.
Sixth Generation often opened for a number of bands at the dance hall, which also hosted acts in the ‘60s such as the Royal Guardsmen (“Snoopy and the Red Baron”), the Kingsmen (“Louie Louie”), the Ventures (“Wipe Out”), and the McCoys (“Hang on Sloopy”).
Tonight’s event begins at 8 p.m. and the public is invited. Tickets are $15 and soft drinks and other nonalcoholic beverages are extra.
