Triton Falls At Northfield

WABASH – Slowing down powerful Northfield proved to be too tough a task for Triton Friday night.

The host Norsemen piled up 473 yards of total offense in defeating the visiting Trojans 32-20 in prep  football action.

Senior quarterback Austin Curless rushed for a team-high 93 yards on 17 carries for Northfield, now 1-1. He also was 5-13 passing for 198 yards.  Jared Kirtlan had a huge game for Northfield with four receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns.

Andy Roser, a 5-10, 215-pound senior, scored two touchdowns for the Norsemen. Alec Wells had one touchdown and 64 yards rushing for the winners.

Triton, which drops to 0-2, got a pair of touchdown passes from senior quarterback Bryson Mosier. He was 13-24 through the air for 174 yards.

Junior Cody Shively had 10 carries for 102 yards and one score for Triton. Junior Cole Creighbaum hauled in seven passes for 112 yards and one touchdown for the Trojans. Josey Farmwald caught a 29-yard touchdown toss for Triton.

Triton opens NSC play next Friday night with its home opener versus Culver.
